Fall means Court Days!

Mt.Sterling has been celebrating Court Days for over 210 years and the tradition will continue October 14th thru October 17th this year.  Court Day has become such a familiar tradition that every time I explain where I'm from people mention "Court Days". Either they've attended Court Days or  heard all about it from friends and family.

The small community works together every year to provide visitiors with the upmost hospitality.  Most Mt.Sterling residents have been making memories at Court Day since they were young children.  Being born on Oct. 19th, I've had the pleasure of celebrating most of my birthdays over Court Day weekend! The birthday money is always spent on Ale-8's, food and random items bought at Court Day.  I can't wait to see what's in store for the upcoming festival!

My Court Day Traditions

1.  Buy an Ice Cold Ale-8 from the MCHS Cheerleaders or the Soccer Team:)
Go INDIANS!!

2. Place an order of Fried Veggies. Yum Yum!

3.  Buy some warm socks! Would love to find these at Court Day 2011!

What do you like to do at Court Days?  Do you eat the same food every year or do you try something new?

Please share with us your favorite Court Day memories!

XOXO

A Sassy Dream Come True

Sassy Spratt is owned and ran my hardworking mom, Karen.  The third year anniversary was celebrated this past August and is going on it's much anticipated fourth year!  The store started with a little dream and a lot of hard work.  She has spent endless nights over the past four years in the store making her dream of running a store come true. For everyone that knows her, you understand that  nothing leaves her store until the customer is truly happy!  In my eyes, nothing less than perfect makes it past the front door! :)
Sassy Spratt's two story building is filled with designer discount fabric, home decor and to top it off she's a florist!
She is wonderful at floral design and has been very busy in the wedding department.  One of her first big weddings was even featured in the popular magazine,Jacki Allen's Kentucky Bride for the Foster Wedding.
Sassy Spratt is located in the small town of Mt.Sterling, KY.  It is a family owned business that has been gaining in popularity every day! Obviously, I am very proud of my mom and her business and to show my support I am creating this blog.  I believe that it is only fair to expand the market and let the rest of the world see her wonderful gift of creativity.  Busy creating everything from wreaths and flower arrangements, to floor displays and gifts- there's no time left for advertising. I mean there is only so much a woman can do, right?  I'd like to invite you to join the Sassy Spratt blog in appreciation of my moms hard work serving the community with adorable creations every day!  She definitely makes the world a brighter place!  I love you Mom!
